The Comox Archives and Museum Society is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our team. We are a passionate group committed to preserving and enriching the history of the Town of Comox. Position Details
Position Title: Comox Archives and Museum Society Member
Reports To: Board of Directors of the Comox Archives and Museum Society
Wage: $25 per hour
Weekly Hours:
12 hours per week initially, with on-the-job training.
Starting May 25th, 32 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Historical Knowledge: Possess an interest in learning and sharing Comox histroy
Social Media and Web Presence: Enhance the society’s social media presence and web engagement to reach a wider audience and increase public interest in Comox’s history.
Timeliness and Efficiency: Be punctual in all museum-related activities and demonstrate efficiency in handling archival tasks.
Community Engagement: Work collaboratively with our team, which we proudly describe as a “Happy Bunch,” to create a welcoming and informative environment for visitors and community members.
Computer Proficiency: Utilize technology effectively to manage archives, social media platforms, and improve web presence.
Public Interaction: Engage with the public in a friendly and professional manner to foster an appreciation for Comox history.
Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of Comox history.
Experience in managing social media platforms and improving web presence.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work efficiently and independently.
A friendly and enthusiastic demeanor.
Proficiency in computer skills and technology.
Excellent communication and public interaction skills.
Application Process
We are looking to hire by May 2nd, with the position starting with on-the-job training. By May 25th, the position will transition to 32 hours per week at $25 per hour.
